League History Since the Scottish league was formed in 1890/91 season Rangers have won 49 League championships (the first being shared with Dumbarton) plus 7 unofficial titles won during the 2nd World War. Since the European competitions began in season 1956/57 Rangers have failed to play in Europe just 4 times, three time we have due to failure to qualify and once due to a ban imposed after crowd trouble in Barcelona.
